Dedication
Dedication is the immediate concluding stage of a completed Public Work. It presents two equal-economy identities that establish the landmark's art, caption, story, or navigation convenience.
- Position in a Public Work
- After Petition and Build completion
- Identities
- Two alternatives with equal economic outcomes
- Timing
- Immediate
- Possible result
- Map art, caption, story, or a navigation shortcut
Identity selection
A Public Work inspector presents its Dedication after the Build timer ends. The preceding Petition may be funded across Workdays, while Approve Plans starts the globally shared Build stage.
For Pondworks, the two identities are Lily Landing and Mill Memorial. Lily Landing provides a map shortcut, while Mill Memorial provides a Water Works build-index shortcut; both preserve the same economy.
Scenes and story
Some completed Work inspectors include a Dedication Scene. These short scenes may be watched or read, and their still, mute, reduced-motion, and standard forms retain the same decorative result. A scene can add a Story Window chapter or caption to the finished landmark.
History
Earlier District Project identities were associated with capacity, construction, routes, crews, or poses. In the current Public Works system, those associations remain part of historical text and artwork, while Dedication identifies a landmark's presentation and story.
