Availability and archive

War Squirrels becomes available after its level, Dispatch Desk, and Public Work requirements are met. Its ordinary event window is disclosed as 72 hours and occurs no more than once in 28 local days, although local availability can be shorter, delayed, or absent by region or platform.

After the event's first appearance, the Campaign Archive provides a permanent representative replay and reading route. Its static town note identifies War Squirrels as an occasional optional event and indicates the Archive route's availability.

Encounter

An encounter starts with one prebuilt, equal-value three-squirrel squad. The opposing formation, terrain, lanes, and counter text are displayed before the squad is placed across Lanes 1-3 and either Tactic A or Tactic B is selected. The plan can be changed or cancelled until Confirm rehearsal.

The four class roles are Scout, Guard, Courier, and Engineer. Scout reveals lane intent, Guard absorbs a scripted pressure, Courier shifts one ally lane, and Engineer explains terrain tactics. Three opponent scripts and a tutorial encounter provide the campaign's fixed situations.

Outcome and rewards

A confirmed plan resolves in 60-120 seconds. The same encounter and confirmed plan always produce the same result, whose explanation lists every lane's class-and-tactic value, terrain contribution, and counter contribution. A win or rehearsal retreat completes the rehearsal and returns to farm activity.

Every outcome path files an equal decorative War campaign Memento. Some events also announce a capped War Participation Coins grant comparable to an equal-time normal delivery. Current participation is free and needs no farm materials.

Access

The List route is Optional Modes > Battle Event; Map and Workday entry appear when core tasks are clear. Numbered and named lanes use pattern and text alongside color. Keyboard and switch controls follow the squad, plan, lane, tactic, confirmation, and result sequence, while reduced motion, captions, mute, scene skip, and result text reach the same resolution.

Advertising and reception

War Squirrels became the focus of an advertising controversy after battle-heavy campaigns attracted players expecting a dedicated strategy game. The advertisements used footage of the real event, while players began in Rodent Farm's farming progression. Debate over that difference became a prominent part of the game's critical reception.
